Director of Projects

Job Description Job Description: Broad base of knowledge in engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning/startup execution across all disciplines. Project execution knowledge and experience for Government (DOD) EPC projects all project types including T&M and lump sum. Experience leading Government projects  (preferably munitions) >$130 M.  The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess: Project knowledge and skills for execution of large Government munitions firm fixed price capital projects encompassing EPC and/or EPCM Demonstrated broad based familiarity and overall understanding of the interfaces and work processes to facilitate Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning/Start-Up Demonstrated ability and experience to oversee multi-discipline Design Teams in an Engineering Office environment, along with an expert understanding of project execution methodologies and gated work processes, from Conceptual Engineering through Detailed Design Solid understanding of Project Control concepts to manage deliverable expectations, progress measurement and metrics tracking. Included ## estimating, P6 scheduling and SAP cost reporting. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to motivate a team to succeed What You'll Be Doing: Develops and maintains professional working relationships with client, executive management, construction management, engineering, sales and marketing, project controls, finance, contract administration, purchasing, business planning, and other units to ensure project success. Integrates, monitors and controls design, procurement, construction and commissioning/startup to ensure high quality, consistency with applicable codes and standards, logical presentation and executability. Directs the preparation of and approves:Project Managementreports including Progress Report,              Project Control Report and Contract Status Report. Inquiry and Requisition Report, Purchase Order Report, Contract Status Report and Material Report, in coordination with Procurement Department. AO Invoice preparation, submittal to Clients, and expediting of Client payments. Change Notice Requests, facilitates internal review & approval for review and submittal to Clients, and expediting of Client disposition. Responsible for safety, quality, client interface, scope, schedule, and cost control.   Ensuring appropriate (knowledge, skill and experience) staffing is available and enabled for all phases of the project. What You Need To Bring To The Table: BS Engineering/ BS Construction Management required (advanced degree a plus) 15+, 5-10 with Government experience, preferably munitions or equivalent construction PMP required or ability to obtain in two years PE preferred
